Help with Iditarod Costs
I'm sure you can imagine the logistics of preparing for the "Indy 500" of professional
dog-racing. To prepare for a 1,149 mile journey, numerous items, in rather large quantities are
needed: meats (lamb, beef, beaver, fish, etc.) costing $1,500; commercial kibble (we use
Eukenuba) $1,000; Dog booties (dollar each-over 1200 are needed) $1,200; lithium batteries
($12 each) $500; vet bills for the race $1,000; personal food, clothing, plastic runners and
various sled parts. The list goes on- needless to say the Laughing Eyes Kennel Pooches will
need the help of others in the hopes of reaching the finish line in Nome in a safe professional
manner.
