Hello, I am from Muraski Elementary School in Strongsville.  Hugh came to our school
yesterday and gave a GREAT talk with our students.  My Fifth grader enjoyed seeing
Hugh and learning so much.  My first grader came home and couldn't stop talking about
the role of the female dogs on the sled.  She recited how they "are lighter, and have heart
and the male dogs would fall through the ice if they went first."   We would definitely
recommend Hugh to come to every school.

Thank you

Welcome to Our House/the Dog House

Hugh grew up in Chicago, IL and after reading about the Iditarod, his dream was to move
to Alaska and become a dog musher.  In 1996 he travelled to Alaska with his dogs Maverik
and REL.  He started with nothing, but worked for other dogmen in villages around the
state and gradually gained knowledge and experience.

Hugh would like to share some of his stories and talk to kids not only about his dogs, dog
mushing, racing, and Alaska but also about becoming involved in their community, spiritual
enhancement, positive energy, and pursuing one’s dreams.

The presentation includes a short video from the Jeff Corwin show showing the dogs in
action, stories, discussions, and a question and answer period.  Meet one of the top
Iditarod and Yukon Quest mushers, and see some of the equipment used.  There will also
be Hugh's book for sale:  ANNIE - My Life on the Trail so Far..., along with signed
pictures and kennel t-shirts.  There are only a limited number of dates available.  If
interested please e-mail us at laughingeyeskennel@hotmail.com

Join us for the Journey of a lifetime- a journey across Alaska with man's best friend leading
the way.  A journey for a tomorrow that is truly a better day!
