Hello, I am from Muraski Elementary School in Strongsville.  Hugh came to our school
yesterday and gave a GREAT talk with our students.  My Fifth grader enjoyed seeing
Hugh and learning so much.  My first grader came home and couldn't stop talking about
the role of the female dogs on the sled.  She recited how they "are lighter, and have heart
and the male dogs would fall through the ice if they went first."   We would definitely
recommend Hugh to come to every school.

Thank you

Welcome to Our House/the Dog House

This is the latest school tour with musher Hugh Neff and his canine companion Wild Bill.
Hugh and the team completed over 3,000 miles of racing this year.  The team came in 2nd in
this year's Yukon Quest (missing 1st by only 4 minutes) and 15th in this years Iditarod.
This is the 5th year in a row that Hugh and the team have competed in both 1,000 miles
races in the same year.

Hugh grew up in Chicago, IL and after reading about the Iditarod, his dream was to move
to Alaska and become a dog musher.  In 1996 he travelled to Alaska with his dogs Maverik
and REL.  He started with nothing, but worked for other dogmen in villages around the
state and gradually gained knowledge and experience.

Hugh would like to share some of his stories and talk to kids not only about his dogs, dog
mushing, racing, and Alaska but also about becoming involved in their community, spiritual
enhancement, positive energy, and pursuing one’s dreams.

The presentation includes a short video from the Jeff Corwin show showing the dogs in
action, stories, discussions, and a question and answer period.  Meet one of the Laughing
Eyes Kennel dawgs, (Wild Bill - a 2009 Quest and Iditarod finisher), and see some of the
equipment used.  There will also be Hugh's book for sale:  ANNIE - My Life on the Trail
so Far..., along with signed pictures and kennel t-shirts.  There are only a limited number of
dates available.  If interested please e-mail us at laughingeyeskennel@hotmail.com  Costs
are $600 per presentation ($800 for two talks at same school) .  Discounts for multiple
schools in the same area.

Our tour this spring (May 2009) will start in Toronto, Ontario, continue on to Rochester,
Waverley, Manhattan, West Nyack all in NY, then to Jersey, Washington, DC, North
Carolina, Atlanta, GA, West Virginia, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois and Michigan.  We then may
stop off in Spokane on the way home.  We may be able to work in some other areas along
the way if possible.

We are currently working on individual dates but we know we start off in Toronto on May
6th and are in Rochester on the 7th.

Join us for the Journey of a lifetime- a journey across Alaska with man's best friend leading
the way.  A journey for a tomorrow that is truly a better day!
