Welcome to Laughing Eyes Kennel, home of Hugh Neff, Tamra
Reynolds and the Laughing Eyes Kennel dawgs.  We are based out
of Skagway, Alaska and Whitehorse, Yukon.  We are a
long-distance racing kennel and have finished 4 Iditarods and 6
Yukon Quest races.  This year
we competed in the Cantwell
Classic
200, the Kusko 300, the Yukon Quest, Iditarod, and Kobuk
440
.   That's 3,000 miles of racing!  This year Hugh and the dogs
finished the Iditarod for the first time in the top 20, came in 2nd
in the Cantwell race, and 6th (out of 19) in the Kusko.  Our
shining stars this year were Watson (finished every race as a 2
year old), his sister Annie (our new super leader), Omen (finished
every race in lead), Scotty (at 5 years old suddenly came on strong
and was seen loping across the Quest finish line), and June-Marie
who at ten years old finished the Yukon Quest - her 9th 1,000 mile
race.  She's now retired and enjoying her place on the couch!

In 2006, the team finished the Iditarod with a personal best in 21st
position, in 10 days, 6 hours, and 22 minutes with 10 dogs.  This
year our amazing dogs that finished every race were Maestro,
Mahoosic, Colby, Flame, Omen, Blaze and Titan.   Click on
Dawgs
to see their smiling faces.

In 2005 Hugh raced in both the Yukon Quest and Iditarod.  He
had a career best in the Yukon Quest finishing 3rd within an hour
of the leaders, followed by a 26th placing in Iditarod.  In 2004,
Hugh and the Laughing Eyes Kennel dogs finished the Iditarod in
22nd position, earning the title of "Rookie of the Year".  Click on
the
race links to see photos and details from the races.  Hugh's
2004 Iditarod Journal is
available on the website under
newsletters.  32 pages of photos, insight, and stories from the trail.

We want to give a heartfelt thank you to all of our sponsors from
this past year.  We hope you enjoyed the ride and come back again
for more! Our Iditarod team is shown on the dawgs link.  If you'd

Yukon.  We also carry Pursuit - a 30/20 performance food - great for all year round feeding.  If
