In the past 10 years Hugh and his team have competed in 9 Iditarods and 12 Yukon
Quest races. Hugh is one of a handful of mushers that have completed the Yukon Quest
and Iditarod in the same year - and he's done it the last 8 years in a row! Also on the
agenda every year is Hugh's school tour to the lower-48. He travels to schools at the
beginning of May for 3 or 4 weeks. Hugh talks about dog mushing, racing, living with
dogs in the North, following your dreams, and working hard to achieve your goals. If you
have a school or group interested in seeing Hugh's presentation please contact us a soon
as possible for information. We'd love to come visit you too!
This year the team came in 1st in the Yukon Quest and 16th in the Iditarod. Hugh is the
only musher with three finishes in the Quest's top 10 overall fastest times.
The Quest team consisted of: Walter, Juanita, Delilah, Nathan, Ellsworth, Tyler,
Tolliver, Amigo, George, Jewel, Sicily, Havana, Gringo, and Rocky.
The Iditarod team consisted of: Annie, Walter, Juanita, Jewel, Nathan, Tolliver, Delilah,
Tyler, Ellsworth, Amigo, George, Effie, Bodhi, Mohito, Rocky, and Goldie.
