ANNIE - (Colby x Piccalo) Born 08/2004  Alpha
female in the yard and on the team.  She's a
main leader.  Finished 2 Yukon Quests and 3
Iditarods.  She's had 3 litters with Amos, Brady
(Larry x ?) and Nemo (Omen x Zorro).  Annie
sleeps on the bed every night and has loads of
attitude.  This year's team was called Annie's
Army because the majority of the team
consisted of Annie's brothers, mother and sons.
WATSON - (Colby x Piccalo) Born 08/2004
 Main Leader with his sister Annie.  He's
the strong but silent type.  Strong enough
for a wheel dog but too great a leader to
deny him that spot.  Watson's finished 3
Yukon Quest's and 3 Iditarod's.  Watson
usually finishes a race 5 lbs heavier than
when he started.  He's an eating machine.  
He loves being inside but he has to be
watched because he's been known to get
into garbage cans and take pots off the
stove.  
WALTER (Colby x Piccalo) Born
08/2004 Leader/Wheel dog.  Annie
and Watson's brother.  A big boy at 65
lbs but super affectionate.  Well
usually he is.  On races though he
usually has a warning note saying
'grumpy' - he doesn't like vets much.  
Walter has finished 3 Yukon Quests
and 3 Iditarods.  A great storm, tough
times leader.  He'll always go no matter
what.
2010 YUKON QUEST/IDITAROD TEAM
COLBY - From Lester Erhart.  Born
2002.  Leader.  Small girl, only 42 lbs
but the cheerleader of the group and
one of the smartest in the yard.  
Mother of Annie, Watson, Walter.  She
mostly roams loose and likes to sleep
in the same dog house as either her
kids or with Annie's kids.  When inside
she watches the tv intently especially
any animal programs.  Her favorites
are 8 below and Snow Dogs.  She's
been in 7 Iditarods and 2 Yukon
Quests.  
PICCALO - From Lester Erhart.  Born
2000.  Team Dog. Is quietly
affectionate.  Was on Hugh's early
Quest teams.  Was on 4 Quest teams
and 1 Iditarod.  He's the father of
Annie, Watson, Walter.  During his first
Quest he was dropped for a sore foot
in Eagle.  During the plane ride he
managed to get out of the burlap sack
and was trying to open the plane door!
Piccalo is now retired but I thought I
should include him being as though I
had Colby, and their kids here.   
AMIGO- (Annie x Brady)  Born
09/2007.  Leader.  50 lbs.  Loves
curling up on the couch.  Amigo ran
the Quest 300 as a yearling.  This year
he finished the Yukon Quest, and ran
to Koyuk in the Iditarod (tired).  Amigo
also ran the Knik and Roadrunner 100
George- (Annie x Brady)  Born
09/2007.  50 lbs.  This year George
finished the Yukon Quest, and ran to
Shaktoolik in the Iditarod.  He was
dropped due to a swollen paw. George
also ran the Knik, Copper Basin and
Percy.
GERONIMO- (Annie x Brady)  Born
09/2007.  Leader.  55 lbs.  The most
hyper dog in the yard.  Has to have his
harness and booties put on first or
you'll never get them on.  Geronimo
ran in the Iditarod to White Mountain.  
He also ran the Knik, Copper Basin,
Percy and Kobuk 440.   
JUANITA - (Annie x Brady)  Born
09/2007.  Leader.  45 lbs.  Just like her
mom Annie, and has almost identical
markings as her brother Geronimo.  
Loves to sleep on the bed.  Juanita
had three puppies in the summer with
Tyler and they all look like Annie but
with blue eyes.  She was taken off the
main training team this year too soon
because Hugh thought she was too
small.  He realized his mistake after the
Iditarod.  This year she finished the
Percy and the Kobuk 440.   
JESTER- (Annie x Brady)  Born
09/2007.  Leader.  50 lbs.  Very
happy, friendly boy.  Jester ran in the
Yukon Quest but was dropped in
Scroggie (tired) and finished Iditarod.  
He also finished the Knik, Copper
Basin, Percy and Kobuk 440.  
GRIFFIN- (Omen x Zorro)  Born
07/2007.  55 lbs.  Intact Male.  Super
friendly, loves being inside but also
likes to chew on things.  The Annie
boys above decided to pick a fight with
him after the Knik so he missed a
month of training. Griffin finished the
Quest 300 as a yearling.  This year he
ran in the Iditarod but was dropped in
Ruby (tired).  He also ran the Knik and
Roadrunner 100 and Percy.  The rest
of his litter have been a bit slower to
mature than Annie's litter.  They will
likely race next year.
DELILAH- (Omen x Maestro)  Born
05/2006.  Leader.  50 lbs.  Spayed
female.  Doesn't get along with Annie.  
Loves everyone else.  Very dominant
in the dog yard.  Shy around people
she doesn't know.  Delilah ran both the
Quest and Iditarod in 2009.  This year
she again finished both the Quest and
Iditarod.  She also ran the Knik,
Copper Basin and Percy.    
ELLSWORTH- (Omen x Maestro)  Born
05/2006.  Team/wheel dog.  60 lbs.  
Neutered male.  Has a wry mouth and
lazy eye.  Developed the twisted nose
as a puppy when one side of his snout
grew faster than the other.  I think his
vision is affected slightly in his lazy eye
because he runs slightly to the side so
he can see better.  Did the Quest as a
yearling and make it to Slavins
(dropped sore shoulder).  Didn't race
at all in 2009.  In 2010 he came back
strong.  He ran in the Quest and was
dropped again at Slavins when he was
injured in an ice crack.  He went on to
finish Iditarod.  He's also finished the
Knik, Copper Basin, Percy and Kobuk
440. He gets along with everyone and
is always happy.   
TOLLIVER- (Omen x Maestro)  Born
05/2006.  Leader.  60 lbs.  Neutered
male.  Runs best beside his brother
Tyler.  Didn't lead as much this year as
he should have.  Figured out what a
great leader he is near the end of
Iditarod.  Ran the Quest 300 and Iditarod
last year. This year ran the Yukon Quest
to the last checkpoint of Braeburn (tired).
 Finished Iditarod.  Also finished the Knik,
Copper Basin, Percy, and Kobuk 440.   
Has great personality, great feet and a
good eater.    
TYLER- (Omen x Maestro)  Born
05/2006.  Leader.  55 lbs.  Neutered
male. Very shy around strangers.  Had
a litter with Juanita last year before
being neutered due to not keeping
good weight.  Ran the Quest 300 and
Iditarod last year.  This year he
finished both the Yukon Quest and the
Iditarod.  He also raced the Knik,
Copper Basin, Percy and Kobuk 440.  
Right before the Iditarod he had some
intestinal issues and we weren't sure
he'd even start.  He healed up two
days before and gained weight back
quickly.  A great, fast leader like his
mom.  
NATHAN- (Jedi x Chaney (Mackey))  Born
07/2005.  Leader/team.  60 lbs.  
Neutered male. Loves to be inside.  
Mopes if he's made to stay outside.  
Broke his back leg when he was 5 months
old - a radial fracture.  He stayed inside
for the next month.  He learned to go
down the stairs on 3 legs, holding up the
splinted leg.  Every since then he still
goes down stairs on 3 legs.  His nickname
is Tamra's boyfriend.  At checkpoints he
whines if she's around and can't
understand why she's not allowed to pet
him.  Ran the Quest and Iditarod in 2009
but didn't finish either.  This year he
finished both the Quest and Iditarod, plus
the Knik, Copper Basin, Percy and Kobuk
440.  
WONKA- (Holly x Bogart)  Born
07/2005.  Leader.  55 lbs.  Neutered
male. Super affectionate to anyone he
meets.  Has finished 3 Iditarods and 1
Yukon Quest.  He ran in the Quest this
year but injured a tendon on the back
of his front foreleg. Had to be dropped
in Dawson.  It hadn't healed in time for
Iditarod so he's been in recovery
since.  Was sorely missed in Iditarod
this year.  He also ran the Knik and
Copper Basin this year.
ZODIAC - From Jason Mackey.  Born
2005.  60 lbs.  Intact male. Good with
people and other dogs.  Finished the
Yukon Quest this year.  Near the finish
line he broke his toenail.  It seemed
healed up for the Iditarod but he
ended up being dropped in Nikolai
when is swelled up.  Same again in the
Kobuk 440.  He finished Knik, Copper
Basin and the Percy this year.    
SHIFTER- From Lance Mackey  Born
2006.  Ran in the Quest with Lance in
2008.  60 lbs.  We had him neutered
when we first got him due to swollen
testicles from frostbite. He ran Iditarod
last year not long after the surgery and
made it halfway.  This year he ran in
the Yukon Quest and was dropped in
Central.  Never stops moving in the
dog yard.  Has a great trot and always
works the hardest.  
MAHOOSIC - (Mertyle x ?)  Born 2002  
Team dog.  60 lbs.  Neutered male.
Grumpy in the yard but a big couch
potato.  His sister bit off his tail when
he was a puppy but its been slowly
growing back.  The biggest ears I've
ever seen on a dog.  A tough guy and
a hard worker.  Never gives up. Has
finished 5 Iditarods and 5 Quests.  Got
a bit over muscled last year.  Didn't
really get a lot of training this year.
Was a last minute addition to the
Iditarod team.  Made it to Rohn (tired).
